Despite her valiant efforts, Pyrrha was defeated. Cinder murdered her shortly thereafter by shooting her through the chest with an arrow at point-blank range, before disintegrating her remains and scattering her ashes. Pyrrha wore her red hair in a waist-length ponytail, curled slightly into a loose ringlet. She also wore light-green eyeshadow around the far upper corners of her green eyes. She was tall and quite muscular compared to most of the other girls at Beacon. As a top, she wore a brown overbust corset with a vertical strip of lighter brown in the center. Additionally, Pyrrha wore an elastic, black, A-line mini skirt and brown opera-length gloves on both arms.

According to series creator Monty Oum , every character's name is tied to a specific color. There are also other teams with their name combining to form acronyms that are also tied to a color. Oum designed the characters with assistance from artist Ein Lee. Oum had been browsing Lee's Deviant Art work and asked if she wanted to do some designs. The only rule provided for the series was "everyone must be badass. Others were from brainstorming with other people. The year old main protagonist who typically dresses in a black dress and a red cloak, using the Crescent Rose scythe as both a melee weapon and as a high caliber sniper rifle.
We must consider that A. The arrow to the chest diddn't instantly kill Pyrrha, in fact she survives a bit with it in and B. When she disapears after Cinder touches her mind you her headress is left behind without any reason behind it. So what I think happens is after Pyrrha got shot and Cinder touched her, her semblance, and therefore Pyrrha herself, were absorbed into Cinder as shown by the orange particles she dissolved into. Now the headress remaining also can hint at this. It remains to hint at the fact that Pyrrha is still "alive" in a sence. Pyrrha is dead. The arrow didn't just hit her and get caught it between her ribs or anything, it pierced her spine and pokes out the back. Also, she was burnt from the inside out; the first things to go would be her lungs and heart, and because her spine was pierced her brain functions are all stopped too. I don't mean to make people uncomfortable with the gorey parts of it, but the fact remains.
